Please congratulate the 8th grade Boys basketball team on their complete sweep last Monday against Prosper Jones! The White team found themselves in a hole early, down 13-4 after the first quarter. They were able to make some adjustments and claw back into the game down just one point after three quarters of play. The Raiders ultimately made enough plays down the stretch to pull off a one-point victory. The Gold team bounced back in a major way, playing great defense with all five guys committed to getting stops that led to a lot of transition scoring and a dominant performance on both ends of the floor. The Red team had another solid win controlling the tempo of the game. White (C) 27-26 HP Bennett Little, Colin Mansouri & Doug Owen- All had 4 points Gold (A) 65-27 HP Chase Merrick, 16 points Hall Allison, 12 points Taylor Wood, 10 points Red (B) 39-17 HP Drew Prine, 10 points Graeme Berry, 8 points Our week 1-3 Toughness Belt Winners are as follows: Week 1: Malik Abubakar showed great tenacity rebounding and playing through contact and diving for loose balls and fighting for jump balls Week 2: Bennett Little helped command his team's offense and always sprints back and plays great help defense Week 3: Henry Hightower brought great energy and activity that helped further spark his team's play on Monday. He showed an ultimate sign of relentless competitiveness by selling out and drawing a charge in the final two minutes of a game in which is team was up by over 30 points at the time.
