RAIDERS CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS COMPETE AT MCKINNEY BOYD BRONCO STAMPEDE

Please congratulate the HPMS Boys Cross Country team on a successful first meet of the season at the McKinney Boyd Stampede on Saturday, September 7th! The 7th grade boys team came in 5th out of 13 teams. It was Caleb Terry who stole the show is his debut for the Raiders taking home the gold medal from a field of 229 runners with a superb time of 10:06. He was followed by Hayden Cason (23), Blaise Gonzales (27), Matthew Choi (31) and Charles Bradbury (53). The 8th grade boys team came just 3 points shy of 2nd place, finishing in third out of 14 teams. Hamilton O’Brien led the charge with a 5th place medal finish with a time of 10:04 in his first ever cross-country meet. O’Brien was followed by Grayson DiCanio who also medaled (14), Drake Soukup (24), Hayne Kobler (27), and Holden Helm (45). This group has a lot to be proud of with three dual-sport athletes in our top 5 scorers who compete in both football and cross country for the Raiders. Our runners of the week are Blaise Gonzales and Drake Soukup who have shown tremendous improvement in the past few weeks of training which allowed them both to be top 5 scorers for their grade level teams.
